Seriously Brutal Duathlon

Sept 15th 2018 - Llanberis, North Wales

This event runs alongside the Brutal Triathlons, allowing you to experience the exciting and challenging routes, without having to swim!

You start with the surprisingly tough lake lap run, followed by the awesome (and hilly) bike course and finally up and down Snowdon!

Full - 3 laps around the Lake (15m), 4 lap (116m) road bike and finish with an ascent / descent of Snowdon (9m)

Half - 1 lap around the Lake (5m), 2 lap (58m) road bike and finish with an ascent / descent of Snowdon (9m)

What time is registration?
Registration is open from 16:00 till 20:00 on Friday 14th September

What time is the race briefing?
The mandatory briefing is 18:00 on Friday 14th September

Where is registration/briefing?
Registration/briefing is held in Electric Mountain (LL55 4UR)

Do I rack my bike on Friday?
Your choice, there will be overnight security if you decide to leave your bike in race HQ on Friday, but if you can't be parted, then you can rack on Saturday morning

What time is transition open on race day?
From 05:00

What time/day does the race start?
The race starts at 07:00 Saturday 15th September 2018

Will there be food / drinks on site?
Yes, there is a catering van open from 05:00 till late on Saturday and TORQ nutrition, cake, cheese scones, sandwiches, bananas and jellybabies available at the HQ aid station.

What will be available at the aid stations?
TORQ nutrition, bananas, biscuits, jellybabies, water, coke and more CAKE!

Where are the aid stations?
One on the trail run (2.5 mile approx), one on the bike (mile 14) and one at HQ

Is there car parking available?
You can’t park on the event field, but there are lots of car parks nearby. Please see the info pack for locations

Where can I stay
There are plenty of B&Bs, hotels and bunkhouses available near race HQ -

Are there showers in transition?
No, only toilets.

What are the rules?
No drafting. You must wear a cycle helmet. No MP3 players or similar. No littering and you must mount and dismount at the designated points.

What kit do I need for the mountain section?
Issued map (waterproof pouch/bag needed)
Waterproof / windproof coat
Waterproof trousers
Extra warm clothes
A fully charged working mobile phone (water proofed) with emergency number in
Glow Sticks x2 (Full PIG only)
Survival foil blanket
Head torch (Full PIG only)
More than 400ml of water or other drink
